Puppy Pictures
Our puppies get three visits to the vet before
they leave here for their forever homes.. Two visits for vaccinations
and a final exam to check for patella, heart, eyes, ears and general
health. This is why they do not leave here before 10 weeks. We also
now microchip instead of tattooing for additional safety.
They are socialized with sounds of the household
(vacuuming, television, etc), outdoor sounds such as mowing,
hammering, drilling etc. They get outdoors time with the adults under
supervision, (totally fenced area for playing) are used to cats,
birds, horses, cows, and all sounds of nature. All our puppies are
handled daily.
I always insist my puppies travel in their own
crate, I never take any of my animals anywhere unless they are crated.
Crating your puppy keeps them safe from getting in the way when you
are driving (can you imagine what an airbag would do to a puppy or dog
if it were standing on your lap?) In case of an accident, it keeps
them from getting loose and running away, and is added protection from
being banged around. It also prevents people from seeing that you have
a valuable animal in your vehicle and possibly breaking in to steal
it. This is why all my puppies are crate trained!
The only difference
between a show puppy and a companion or "pet" puppy is strictly in
minor imperfections. All my dogs are bred to be as close to the
standard of the breed as set out by the Canadian Kennel Club and
American Kennel Club.
Faults such as a little more rounded eye, not enough angulation in
the rear, or a tail set that is too low or carried too high over
the back make it difficult to finish a show prospect. Coat quality
is important in the poodle breed, as a coat that is too fine
cannot hold the style that the standard sets out. Height is also a
factor for both the poodle and miniature pinscher, too tall or too
small is a disqualification.
For the miniature
pinscher the feet need to be "cat like", so a puppy whose feet are
a little flatter in no way makes it an imperfect dog, just one
that would not do well as a show dog.
Temperament that is
too mellow or laid back, is perfect for a family, but
not for the show ring. A show puppy should have a "look at me here
I am,"
attitude and love the idea of competing and dealing with all that
is involved with obtaining a championship. Only a few puppies turn
out to have all that it takes to make it in the show ring.
All my puppies are raised as well bred, well-socialized and
healthy puppies,
both mentally and physically; as I never know exactly which puppy
is going
to turn out to be that show quality one.
They are bred to be enjoyed as a family companion, competitors in
obedience or conformation, to be stable in a therapy situation or
a top dog in rally or agility.
I do the best I can to ensure the puppy you get from Tyramara is a
happy,
healthy, well-rounded companion for you to enjoy for many years.
